Coercion... the evil enemy of mankind.... exercised by governments, local and federal, is the thing which steals from each of us... Government decision-making has changed (here in the USA) from doing things in the best interests of the MAJORITY of the people, and "for the country's welfare," to doing things to satisfy many special-interests-- corporations, groups, and individuals-- all who support the re-election or re-appointment of those with the legislative or regulatory powers to serve those interests. The loss of morality of such people serves their greed and personal interests rather than those of the electorate and national needs.

Sadly, the educational process and the controlled mass media fails to inform the people why this happens or what they might do about it. The indifference of most people may justify their getting "what they deserve."

In the beginning, basic laws supported valued voluntary agreements and they raised people's security in a worthwhile manner while the losses in freedom were acceptable.

But, after decades, centuries, of coercive law-making and regulations, the exponential effect has dropped our freedoms most significantly while the gains in our security have become negligible.... and the voluntary acceptance of the laws is unacceptable.

We are doomed by the system because the morality of those in power is seriously flawed and corrupt. And, like Dr. Galambos has indicated, all coercive forms of government/society will eventually fail as they do not support pure volitionary acts.

But, there are ways for societies to function without coercion.... but, that is another story...

Interesting site... Having both studied and enforced American federal laws I cant quite agree with all of your statements, they just dont ring that true, or dont match what I have personally witnessed. But certainly some of your points are well made and esearched. In any event, at least you are thinking..which is more than some people do. Live long and prosper ;-)
